How do I pay my lawyer’s legal fees in a real estate closing?

Your lawyer’s legal fees in a real estate closing are usually deducted from the funds held in your lawyer’s trust account. 

To determine the exact amount of the legal fees that you are being charged you should ask your lawyer to send you an invoice. To determine whether your lawyer has deducted the legal fees from the funds held in trust ask for a Trust Ledger.

Please note that an invoice will be issued for you after closing to confirm that the amount of the invoice is already paid and you may keep it for your reference. You do not need to make that invoice again.
